About Josie (She/They)

Josie is a provisional psychologist, currently completing placement with Strong Minds Psychology in the clinic and a school setting.
Josie has a PhD in psychology, and has conducted research on the effects of physical activity, mindfulness, and other lifestyle interventions on stress, resilience, and other aspects mental health and wellbeing.
For the last 5 years, Josie has worked in clinical trials, collaborating with research psychologists, lived experience advocates, informal carers and community organisations to develop and deliver evidence-based resources and therapeutic programs for people experiencing mental ill-health and their family and friends.
Josie is passionate about collaborating with clients, as experts in their own experiences, to find evidence-based, sustainable ways to meet their goals and live well.

Bachelor of Science; Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (Psychology); Doctor of Philosophy (Health Psychology); Master of Professional Practice (Candidate)

Therapeutic Approaches

Josie uses a broadly cognitive behaviour therapy approach, integrating elements of acceptance & commitment therapy (act), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), self-compassion, mindfulness, and psychoeducation.
