Clinician Story - from Placement to Supervisor

Holly Moreton

“I commenced my placement with Lisa Archer and the team at Strong Minds Psychology in February 2019. Since this time, I have continued on as a registered clinician to obtain Educational & Developmental Psychologist endorsement, as well as complete my own Supervisor Training.

During the eleven months of placement, I was provided with an incredibly diverse range of opportunities in a variety of settings.

Some of the work included administrative duties, one on one counselling and intervention implementation for a range of presenting concerns across the lifespan, assessments across the lifespan for neurodevelopmental differences and learning difficulties, work within schools to support students and teachers, and small group interventions.

The placement was the perfect setting for myself as an early career Psychologist to develop my competencies in current areas where I feel comfortable, such as working with younger Autistic children, as well as diversifying my practice with adolescent and adult engagement which I previously had less experience with. All this has been completed under the guidance and supervision of Lisa Archer and Toby Mizzi, alongside a wonderful team of diverse clinicians.

I thoroughly enjoyed the open, communicative and collaborative team within Strong Minds, as well as the close knit community setting with which the placement is set. I feel that working within this space has allowed me to develop positive relationships with colleagues, clinicians and the community, to provide the most sensitive and appropriate treatment plans for all clients.

After so many opportunities so far over my first 7 years, I look forward to continuing my development at Strong Minds Psychology in years to come.”
