About Alana (She/Her)

Alana is a qualified counsellor who is also currently completing her last placement in her Masters of Education and Developmental Psychology with Strong Minds. With several years experience working within school and tertiary settings, Alana enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan experiencing a range of presentations but in particular adolescents and young adults. Alana also has an interest in working within the perinatal period, supporting parents and families through transitions. Alana is able to offer intervention and assessments.

Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Graduate Diploma of Psychology, Graduate Diploma of Counselling, Masters of Educational and Developmental Psychology / Phd (candidate)

Therapeutic Approaches

Alana likes to work in collaboration with clients to create a warm inviting space to share concerns. Alana draws from principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Person-Centred Theory to create a tailored approach for each client.
