Dreams are the brain’s way of processing emotions, memories, and unresolved thoughts. They help us rehearse scenarios, integrate experiences, and sometimes express feelings we suppress while awake. There are different theories on why we dream, ranging form those that argue that dreams represent unconscious needs and desires to those that look at dreams as a way for the brain to process information.
You don’t need to interpret every dream symbolically. Instead, ask: “What emotion was present?” That often reveals more than the storyline.
